SITE MANAGER – GALWAY, IRELAND

A leading main contractor in Ireland is currently recruiting for a Site Manager to join their project team in Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded construction organisation delivering large-scale, multi-million euro building projects, working alongside experienced professionals in a structured and high-performing site environment.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

EHS (Health & Safety / Site Compliance)

  • Management and upkeep of site offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor areas, loading bays and site logistics.
  • Ensure full compliance with the project Health & Safety Plan, including inductions, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Supervise workforce activities to ensure safe working methods are consistently applied.
  • Identify, assess and manage site risks and hazards, implementing control measures where required.
  • Enforce environmental and safety standards across all site operations.
  • Ensure statutory H&S requirements are in place, recorded and accessible at all times.
  • Deal promptly with on-site health & safety issues as they arise.
  • Carry out regular safety inspections and report findings.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in line with procedures.
  • Work closely with site management and EHS teams to maintain safe and compliant site operations.

QUALITY

  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
  • Implement and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Management Plans.
  • Support implementation of QA/QC procedures across all site works.
  • Maintain Project Management Plan (PMP) requirements for assigned works.
  • Produce system records demonstrating compliance with project procedures.
  • Carry out auditing and site surveillance activities where required.
  • Maintain daily site diaries, recording labour, activities and progress.
  • Issue and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow through to closure.
  • Develop, manage and close out site-specific QA documentation.
  • Monitor workmanship quality across all trades and subcontractors.
  • Ensure works comply with specifications, drawings and building standards.

PROGRAMME

  • Manage short-term subcontractor programmes and sequencing of works.
  • Provide input into weekly progress and programme reporting.
  • Monitor site progress daily and highlight delays or risks to programme.
  • Analyse causes of delay and communicate mitigation measures.

WELFARE / LOGISTICS / SITE COORDINATION

  • Oversee welfare facilities, security arrangements and site logistics.
  • Manage site access, deliveries, loading areas and traffic coordination.
  • Liaise with neighbouring property owners and public stakeholders where required.
  • Review and approve risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between subcontractors, site teams and management.
