The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to join the team of a long-established and highly respected Irish main contractor on a high-profile development in Clonmel, County Tipperary.

The successful candidate will play a key role during the finishing stages of the project, taking ownership of the coordination and delivery of finishing works and ensuring the development is completed to the highest possible standards.

About the Project

The project is a significant new development in Clonmel involving the construction of a modern multi-storey facility, ancillary building, secure courtyards, controlled parking, landscaping and associated infrastructure works.

The development incorporates a range of complex construction and finishing activities and requires a strong Finishing Foreman capable of coordinating multiple trades, maintaining programme and driving quality through to completion and handover.

The Role

As Finishing Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the finishing phase of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all finishing trades and subcontractors on site.
  • Oversee internal finishes, fit-out, snagging and handover activities.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly finishing programmes and ensure key deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensure all finishing works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate multiple trades to ensure an efficient sequence of works.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure progress remains in line with the programme.
  • Drive the snagging process and ensure outstanding works are completed promptly.
  • Liaise closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team.
  • Monitor labour, materials and resources to maintain progress.
  • Identify potential issues, delays and quality concerns and work with the wider team to resolve them.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress updates.
  • Assist with inspections, snagging and final project handover.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with site health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, presentation and attention to detail throughout the finishing stages.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in finishing and the ability to take ownership of the final stages of a major project.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Finishing Foreman, Finishing Manager, Senior Foreman or similar.
  • Strong experience managing finishing trades and subcontractors on a main-contractor project.
  • Excellent knowledge of internal finishes, fit-out, snagging and handover processes.
  • A strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A strong eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative site team while also taking ownership of your area of responsibility.

A trade background or relevant construction qualification would be advantageous.
