Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced M&E Coordinator to join one of our client’s project teams, a leading main contractor, on a large-scale construction project in Dublin.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E Coordinator to take a key role in the coordination and delivery of mechanical and electrical services on a technically challenging construction project.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Design Team, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure all M&E works are effectively coordinated, delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services throughout the project.
  • Manage and coordinate M&E subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the construction programme.
  • Review M&E drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
  • Identify and resolve potential design clashes and coordination issues before they impact site works.
  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Design Team, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Monitor the progress and quality of mechanical and electrical installations on site.
  • Ensure all M&E works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and relevant industry standards.
  • Coordinate M&E requirements with the structural and architectural elements of the project.
  • Attend and contribute to site, design, technical and coordination meetings.
  • Track and manage technical queries, RFIs, submittals and approvals relating to M&E works.
  • Assist with programme planning to ensure M&E activities are appropriately sequenced.
  • Monitor programme progress and identify potential delays or coordination issues at an early stage.
  • Work closely with subcontractors and project teams to resolve technical and installation issues.
  • Ensure relevant technical information and approvals are available to support the construction programme.
  • Support the coordination of M&E services through the various stages of project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Support the testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure information is effectively communicated across the wider project team.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience working as an M&E Coordinator, Building Services Coordinator or in a similar position.
  • Experience working with a Main Contractor or on large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
  • Experience coordinating M&E subcontractors and building services installations.
  • Good understanding of design coordination and the interaction between M&E, structural and architectural elements.
  • Experience managing RFIs, technical submittals and project approvals.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential technical and coordination issues effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, consultants, design teams and internal project teams.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative while contributing as part of a wider multidisciplinary project team.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and organised approach.
  • Good understanding of construction health & safety and quality requirements.
