Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Finishing Foreman to join one of our client’s site teams, one of Ireland’s leading main contractors, on a high-profile project in County Clare.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the residential, healthcare, education, commercial and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the finishing stages of the project, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards, on programme and ready for a successful handover.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all finishing trades and subcontractors on site.
- Oversee all internal finishes, fit-out, snagging and handover works.
- Ensure finishing works are completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate daily and weekly work programmes to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Manage the snagging process and ensure all outstanding works are completed efficiently.
- Liaise closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider project team.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are progressing in line with the agreed programme.
- Coordinate multiple trades to ensure an efficient sequence of works.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with site health & safety procedures.
- Monitor labour, materials and site resources.
- Identify potential issues or delays and work with the project team to resolve them.
- Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress updates.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure works are completed correctly.
- Assist with final inspections and ensure a smooth and successful project handover.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Finishing Foreman, Finishing Manager, Senior Foreman or in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of internal finishes, fit-out, snagging and handover processes.
- Previous experience working for a Main Contractor is highly advantageous.
- Trade background or relevant construction qualification is desirable.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a wider project team.
- Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
