Trade Counter Sales Executive

Location: Bray, Co. Wicklow

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Executive to join a busy and growing branch in Bray. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with trade counter, retail, builders’ merchants, or electrical wholesale experience who enjoys dealing with customers, providing product advice, and driving sales.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for serving trade and retail customers, processing orders, providing quotations, and ensuring an excellent customer experience while helping to achieve branch sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the trade counter and over the phone.
• Assist customers with product selection, technical advice, and quotations.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Build strong relationships with trade customers and develop repeat business.
• Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote alternative or own-brand products.
• Maintain a strong understanding of products, pricing, and current promotions.
• Support warehouse operations when required, including picking, packing, goods in, and goods out.
• Assist with customer and site deliveries when necessary.
• Ensure the trade counter and branch are maintained to a high standard.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the day-to-day running of the branch.

About You

Essential

• Previous experience in a trade counter, retail, or customer-facing sales role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Sales-focused with the ability to identify additional sales opportunities.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computer systems for order processing and stock management.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience within an electrical wholesale environment.
• Good knowledge of electrical products.
• Forklift licence or material handling equipment (MHE) experience.
