This is a rare opportunity to start from the ground up with a growing construction organisation in Galway.
No previous purchasing experience is required.
What we’re looking for is someone who is organised, good with administration, eager to learn, adaptable and willing to be trained.
You’ll work closely with an experienced Purchasing Manager, learning how procurement works within a live construction environment and gaining valuable experience across suppliers, materials, pricing, orders, deliveries and project requirements.

You’ll support the Purchasing Manager and wider project teams with the day-to-day purchasing function while receiving the training and guidance needed to develop your skills.
Assist with obtaining supplier quotations and comparing pricing.
Support the processing of purchase orders.
Assist with managing orders from placement through to delivery.
Liaise with suppliers regarding materials, equipment and delivery requirements.
Assist with sourcing construction materials, plant and equipment.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Support project teams with procurement requirements.
Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Assist with procurement administration and tracking.
Develop your knowledge of construction purchasing and procurement.
Previous purchasing experience is NOT essential.
We’re looking for someone with:
Strong administration and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and relationship-building skills.
Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
The ability to manage multiple priorities.
A willingness to learn and be trained.
A flexible and adaptable attitude.
A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop.

Experience in construction, engineering, procurement, administration or a builders’ merchant would be advantageous, but is not essential.
No previous purchasing experience required.
