Project Manager – North Kerry

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager for a project based in North Kerry.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate capability and experience in dealing with challenging projects. We are looking to hear from ambitious Project Managers seeking to progress their career. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiating skills, with a proven record working on major projects within the Irish / UK construction industry.

You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

You will be supported in your role by a Contracts Manager, with clear opportunities for career progression. This is a great opportunity to join a highly respected main contractor environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project management in compliance with company policies, procedures, and Building Regulations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the GCCC Form of Contract and RIAI Standard Forms of Contract
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014
  • Strong technical knowledge of building processes and construction details
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental & Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001)
  • Coordinate construction activities to meet programme, budget, and specification requirements
  • Chair and coordinate site meetings with the Design Team and Subcontractors
  • Manage and direct site staff and all subcontractors
  • Monitor construction quality, workmanship, and materials
  • Liaise with the Construction Team to ensure timely and accurate flow of information to all subcontractors and site personnel
  • Chair and record meetings with subcontractors, design teams, and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Project QS to monitor cost control, identify variations, and manage subcontractor procurement
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and best practice
  • Review all drawings and specifications and ensure any errors or omissions are formally communicated to the Design Team in a timely manner
  • Ensure the Design Team provides all required information on time
  • Produce and revise contract and subcontract programmes
  • Ensure company-owned plant and equipment is maintained in good working order
  • Ensure timely provision of key reports, records, and information including site diaries, RFIs, emails, contractor reports, and programmes

Requirements

  • Ideally degree qualified
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK as a Project Manager on £10m+ projects
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills with the ability to think on your feet
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with planning software such as Microsoft Project, Asta, or similar would be advantageous
