Senior Coordinating Engineer – Athlone

This is a key technical role at the heart of a live construction project. You’ll be reporting into the Project Manager and acting as the link between design, site, and delivery teams — making sure everything is aligned, coordinated, and built right first time.

If you enjoy solving problems, keeping multiple moving parts under control, and working closely with both engineers and designers, this is the kind of role where you’ll make a real impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Taking ownership of technical coordination across the building project
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to keep design and site aligned
• Managing communication between design teams, subcontractors, and other third parties
• Helping resolve technical issues quickly and practically as they arise
• Supporting programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives on site
• Ensuring information flow is clear, timely, and accurate across all parties

What we’re looking for:

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Several years’ experience in a contracting environment
• Strong problem-solving ability with a calm, methodical approach
• Confident communicator — written and verbal — with different stakeholders
• Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
• Strong awareness of health & safety, quality standards, programme and commercial priorities
• Postgraduate qualifications or membership of a professional body (e.g. Engineers Ireland) is a bonus, but not essential
